Your First Research Paper Mentorship Program

Why is writing a research paper important for high school and college students?

Writing a research paper helps students stand out in college applications, internships, and job opportunities. Students engaged in research improve their critical thinking and academic skills. When paired with mentorship by top researchers and professors, research also provides the opportunity to build long-lasting relationships with experts in their field.

Our 5-month program helps you “Write Your First Research Paper” with research mentors and professors

Our program aims to provide a foundation to help high school and undergraduate college students write their first research paper. The program will help you in a step-by-step process to write a research paper within 5 months. This includes instruction and mentorship support for the process of writing a research paper.

Program Structure

Throughout the 5-month program, you will learn about the following topics:

  1. How to define a research problem
  2. How to perform a literature survey
  3. Data collection and statistical analysis
  4. Mathematical modeling
  5. Computer Simulation
  6. Using Machine Learning for data analysis
  7. Research paper structure and format.
  8. Writing the different sections of your paper
  9. How to submit your paper for publication and the academic review process in journals and conferences
  10. How to participate in student research competitions

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

I have questions about the program, how can I reach you?

You can contact us through this form: https://researchcollegeprep.com/contact/

Is the program focused on a specific area of science?

The independent and group coaching tracks are primarily focused on research using STEM-related methods (including mathematical modeling and analysis, machine learning, and simulation). However, students interested in applications outside of STEM can still apply the methods learned in the program to write a research papers that utilizes STEM methods but for their domain specific application. Students in the 1-on-1 mentorship track can pursue writing a research paper in other STEM fields as they will be matched with a research mentor from that field.

What background do I need to succeed in this program?

The program is designed for high school students and early undergraduate college students. To succeed, participants must have a strong command of the English language, particularly in reading and writing. Also, we expect participants to have basic familiarity with mathematics at the level of a high school sophomore. With the program’s focus on STEM-related methods, students with a strong background in mathematics or computer science will have the opportunity to achieve greater outcomes.

Am I guaranteed to write a research paper by the end of the program?

The program is structured so that a student with a background in English and high school mathematics who puts the effort and time towards learning the presented material will be able to write a research paper by the end of the program. Different tracks offer different levels of support to achieve this goal.
